I went to the tournament at 3pm yesterday and had a fantastic time.  The Heritage is one of the many reasons come to Hilton Head.  Even if they don’t play golf, they still love the Heritage!

If you are out at the tournament this week, be sure to stop by our hospitality house.  We are open everyday and will be serving lunch between 11am and 2pm.  It’s a great time to visit with old friends, family and clients.

Heritage – to me it’s the most wonderful time of the year…

The purchaser decided to offer $250,000 on the property.  I told him that was lot, but he said that he had some friends in Florida who purchased property for 50 cents on the dollar.  He insisted that the bank should take the offer.

The next day, two offers came in for $5,000 over list price.  My purchaser was very upset because he didn’t feel that this was fair.

Everyone understands that the real estate market is off somewhere between 35% and 40% (depending on what type property you have).  Properties such as this are already at highly discounted prices so we have been receiving multiple offers.

You have to step back and assess your starting point; I think this is a problem – some people use the wrong starting point and they miss out on some already great opportunities.

It reminded me of a little list I have that I like to call “Jim’s List”.  It’s a list of qualified contractors and service providers that we use on a daily basis.

I was on a listing appointment yesterday and my clients told me that they had been looking for a good plumber for months and had been unsuccessful in getting someone to their home.  I pulled out my phone and called one of our contractors who does great work for us frequently and they were there by the end of the day.
