An agent in my office showed my some statistics he ran earlier this month showing the number of homes sold in the last 60 days on Hilton Head Island. The price breakdown was quite interesting:
Under $200,000: 132
$200,000-$400,000: 124
$400,000-$600,000: 60
$600,000-$800,000: 17
$800,000-$1M: 12
$1M-$1.2M: 4
$1.2M-$1.4M: 3
You can clearly see that the market seems to be strongest in the lower price ranges.
This doesn’t surprise me because home prices continue to drop creating some unbelievable buys.
As someone said the other day; it’s a great time to buy, but a tough time to sell.

Several years ago, we didn’t hear much of foreclosures and short sales on Hilton Head Island. Now it seems like a common word in our vocabulary.
So, do you know the difference between a short sale and a bank foreclosure? Sometimes people are confused by what might come from participating in a foreclosure or a short sale. Hopefully the following link can help clear up some of the questions you might have.
*foreclosure vs short sale

I saw this article in The Island Packet on Monday and thought it might be good to share with everyone.
I’m sure most of you have heard of HGTV; and one of their hit shows, Bang for your Buck is coming to Hilton Head. This show focuses on home renovations. In each episode three property owners renovate the same room in their home for the same budget. A real estate expert along with a designer come in and determine who get the best “Bang for your Buck”.
The show is looking for homeowners to display their renovations; I think this is a great opportunity to show off your designwork and beautiful homes. Contact information for applicants is in the below article. ENJOY!
