Last night I was listening to the radio and the hot topic was real estate and when it was good to buy versus renting.

All of the panelists had different answers and reasoning, but I thought there was one particular response in particular that I liked.  When you own your own home you can change and redo your home to your liking and when you rent a property you cannot make these changes. 

I think describes pride of ownership perfectly – it is part of the American Dream.  As a group, Realtors usually spend more time talking about buying real estate over renting – hey, it’s our job. 

With decreasing home prices, I believe that the American dream has shattered for many people; however, if you are entering the home market or if you are ready to trade up there are some great opportunities available.
