Brighter days ahead for housing
By James Wedgeworth on September 4th, 2009On September 2nd The Wall Street Journal ran an article stating, “Yes, the housing market has rarely looked better”. I have had half a dozen people send me copies of that article. Maybe the real estate market has turned.
For the last several months we have seen more sales in 2009 than we have seen in 2008 (corresponding month). It has been years since that has happened.
The reason the real estate market has picked up is because prices are dropping and there are some unbelievable values for people willing to take advantage.
Most people I have talked to say that the mistake most people make is they wait too long to buy. They keep waiting for the market to bottom out; nobody can figure out when it is at the bottom so they buy when prices are up and wish they had bought earlier for less. Now is a great time to buy on Hilton Head Island.
It is also a great time to trade up. If you have a 3rd row house and would like to own an oceanfront home there are some great deals. If you have a villa and would like to own a 3rd row home you can get a great deal.
All the lights are green – buy now or regret it.
