We at Charter I Realty are pleased to announce that James Wedgeworth has been named “Realtor of the Year” for 2008. We cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award than James. The following was an article featured in The Bluffton Today on December 20, 2008:
James Wedgeworth is Realtor of the Year
Each year, the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors chooses a Realtor of the year who meets certain criteria.
The Realtor should be a member of the association in good standing for the past three years, and a full-time licensed active broker or sales licensee working day-to-day in the real estate field who has demonstrated the following behaviors:
- Is actively involved in civic or community affairs
- Promotes a positive image of the Association and its industry publicly throughout the community
- Demonstrates leadership, earning the respect of fellow Realtors through professional business practices
- Is honest and trustworthy, displaying the highest degree of unquestionable integrity and moral characteristics with associates, clients and the public
- Abides strictly by the code of ethics
The Realtor of the year for 2008 is James Wedgeworth, of Charter One Realty and Marketing.
A former book salesman, Wedgeworth joined the association in 1981 and has held a position on the board of directors.
He is a tremendous supporter of the association who believes veteran agents have an obligation to mentor young people into the business. Wedgeworth shares his knowledge and experience by participating in the Professional Development Committee, and has filled the classroom each time with his negotiating and prospect presentation and Sea Pines Villas inventory presentation. Many Realtors are eager to learn from him, and often come away with a smile and story about his sessions.
Wedgeworth is visible throughout the community coaching youth athletics, serves on the board of Hilton Head Hospital and is chairman of the Beaufort County Republican Party, along with many other community and civic activities.
